Tour Details

Discover and experience Dumaguete, dubbed the “City of Gentle People” –a fitting compliment to the unhurried lifestyle of Dumagueteños. First stop is the Silliman University, where we take you on a brief tour of the campus dotted with century-old acacia trees, with Museum or Marine Mammal Museum (weekdays only). We will take you through the city’s landmarks, including Claytown Pottery, the Ninoy Aquino Park and the Convention Center. To see, smell and taste the local flavors, we recommend walking through the bustling Public Market (“tiangge”), before visiting the nearby Sta Catalina de Alexandria Church and Belfry. Next take a stroll along Rizal Boulevard, a promenade popular among locals and tourists.

A quick trip down south of Dumaguete takes you to Negros Oriental Arts and Heritage(NOAH) which houses the stone- craft factory & showroom in Bacong, and the century-old San Agustin Church. Alternatively, you may head southwest and upland to the town of Valencia, located at the foot of Mt Talinis, and home to many waterfalls and hot springs. We will take you to Forest Camp, a 2.5hectare valley resortwith indigenous forest trees, and natural and man-made spring pools.

For some local handicrafts and souvenirs, you may visit the Sidlakang Negros, or if you take the Valencia sidetrip, swing by the Subida Souvenirs. A delectable local lunch awaits you at Lab-as Seafoods, a homegrown restaurant by the sea, which offers live fresh fish, crabs, oysters and native specialties.
